The thermometer is somewhat large, which makes it take up a bit of valuable kitchen space. The biggest downside is that you have to be careful when cleaning this thermometer. I certainly was not expecting it to be waterproof, but just a small splash of water from wiping it off with a wet towel can easily get between the clear plastic and the display.
