Why a Bottom Drive? - The NutriMill Artiste comes with a bottom drive that delivers power much more efficiently to the mixing area than tilt-head mixers. This is because, in a bottom drive mixer, the direction the motor is spinning is the same direction the dough hook, whips, or paddles are spinning. Tilt-head mixers need to use gears or other device to convert the direction the motor is spinning. In the conversion process much of the motor's power can be lost. Much more power in the form of torque is available under load in a bottom drive mixer. **Q: How does it do just making one loaf of bread?**
A: Yes it can make one single loaf of bread.

**Q: Will this work with the "Bosch Universal" attachments?**
A: I think all of the Bosch Universal Plus attachments will work on the Artiste.  But the older Bosch Universal Classic attachments will not.

**Q: What kind of plastic is the bowl made of?**
A: Not sure but its extremely sturdy. I considered getting the stainless steel bowl but really don't feel I need to.

**Q: Is it strong enough to whip Swiss meringue buttercream?**
A: Yes it can do Swiss meringue buttercream and more.
