Do these just dissolve in the water?** A: I mix a teaspoon of it in a bucket half full with hot water to dissolve the product. I use my kid’s beach bucket. Then I pour it into the inflatable pool and mix it around. I do this 3 times a week and it’s working perfectly. The water is crystal clear. I think I have about 100 gallons of water in my inflatable pool. (It holds 163 gallons but I don’t fill it to capacity) Otherwise the product does not seem to dissolve in cold water. **Q: Is this the same as shock?** A: Yes, this can be used as a chlorine shock. Just keep an eye on cya levels if using chlorine sanitizer and chlorine shock as cya levels can sneak up on you to dangerously high levels over time. **Q: Will this kill mosquito larvae in standing water?** A: Absolutely it will kill mosquito eggs and larvae, but please note it is designed for hot tubs and swimming pools. If you have mosquitos in your pool, things have gotten pretty fuzzy. Using chlorine in ponds or drainage ditches is usually illegal. This is a serious chemical, so be cautious. **Q: with a hot tub under a roof you don't need stabilizer correct ?** A: No, you do not need a stabilizer. Stabilizer protects chlorine from sunlight, which is good for pools or spas which aren’t covered.
