Der Probe-Scan bei meinen eigenen Katzen ging super schnell und war bei allen korrekt. Das Display ist zwar recht klein, aber hinterleuchtet. So ist die angezeigte Nummer trotzdem gut lesbar. Abweichend von der Beschreibung schaltete sich mein Scanner statt nach 180 Sekunden bereits nach 30 Sekunden ab. Das BEEP-Geräusch hat meine Katzen irritiert und meine beiden ängstlichen Fellis sogar erschreckt. Sie sind erst mal weg gelaufen. Für scheue Katzen ist das nicht so toll. Ich habe dann dank beiliegender Anleitung und etwas Suche auf der Hersteller-Seite eine Software für den Chipleser gefunden (pet.isenvo.com -> Chipleser aufrufen -> unterhalb des Bildes findet man einen Reiter "Product Attachments"). Über die englischsprachige Software können diverse Einstellungen vorgenommen werden. Jetzt arbeitet mein Chipleser geräuschlos und schaltet sich erst später ab. Über die Software kann man auch die gespeicherten Nummern löschen, falls die Kapazitäten mal erreicht sind. Das Auslesen der gespeicherten Chipdaten geht super einfach über Excel. Das Display zeigt die Nummer aber auch ausreichend lange an, um schnell ein Foto mit dem Handy zu machen (+ 1 Foto von der Katze dazu hilft beim Scannen mehrerer Katzen hintereinander). Fazit: Super Kauf! Der Chipreader funktioniert dank der zusätzlichen Einstell-Möglichkeiten besser als ich erwartet hatte.
