I've learned a couple things: use very little. One time I put a little bit too much in my hair (My hair is very thick and wavy) and it looked almost greasy after I blow dried it and styled it. I did a quick fix by applying dry shampoo to those areas. So I learned to only use a dime-sized diameter portion, even though I have very thick, long hair. It makes my hair smoother and softer, and I really like the smell.
