It receives sunlight, but probably not the optimal amount yet I only intended to have it on the basic setting (off until activated by movement). Unfortunately, due to a design issue, once the battery had been exhausted, the lamp would forget what setting it was on and would stay off until it was charged and then put back on the original setting. This became a nuisance so I decided to contact the company about my dilemma.Robert promptly replied to my email and explained the design defect and made some suggestions to improve the situation, but furthermore, also offered to replace the model with a similar larger paneled lamp that has specific modes (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F9WYHPW) free of charge without having to return the previous model. I was honestly shocked at the offer, but gladly took it and have since swapped out the lamps and it has been working flawlessly ever since.In short, I wanted to thank Robert again and made sure to write this review to let others know that you're dealing with an incredibly grateful company that deserves your business. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ That is how much i like the lights *by C***D on Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2017* This is my third one we purchased and they all were a breeze to install. All I did was hang a nail and hook the light on to it. We had a hurricane come through this past fall and none of the lights blew off. The third one didn't work and company refunded my money immediately; however I wish I could get a replacement, instead of a refund. That is how much i like the lights.
