I would not put it in the washing machine. Or is it too young?** A: I bought it for my one year old grandson and it was perfect. He loves colors and patterns and it even helped with teething since the end of the fins on the fish are teething aids. You can easily wash the teething ends and I seem to remember that it was washable on cold delicate cycle. **Q: what material are these made from?** A: I gave four of these to newborn grandchildren.
