All Janome’s needles are actually made in Taiwan by Organ. The needles will have “Organ” and the size of needle stamped into the rounded side of the shaft. Regardless of how they are packaged, they are the genuine article if the shaft is stamped with the manufacturers name, “Organ.” You will never find a needle stamped with Janome. Janome doesn’t make their own needles. Instead they have them private labeled by Organ. **Q: what's the difference between the purple tip 90/14 and red tip 90/14 needle?** A: Purple Tip Needles are designed to prevent skipped stitches with heavy fabrics, including knits, while doing sewing and embroidering. They feature a ball point tip to prevent fabric thread breakage and a special cobra shaped head to form a proper needle thread loop so that it prevents skipped stitches caused by the fluctuation of the fabric.
