## Description

Black Beauties are one of the family of DRs Extra-Life coated string sets. DR Strings, makers of the worlds finest handmade strings, combine the latest wire technology with old-fashioned craftsmanship. The costly stainless-steel wrap wire is the latest in coated technology. The wire is pre-coated before winding for extra life and extra protection. This coating includes a corrosion inhibitor for extra protection against damaging substances such as perspiration, dirt, humidity, and acid hands. DRs Extra-Life offers players a superior coated string without sacrificing the tone, clarity, and volume. The K3 coating is the first coating that players report, sounds as good or better than uncoated strings. DRs new, remarkable, proprietary and patent pending K3 Technology Coating is the first coating that makes no apologies and no excuses for not delivering sound equal to uncoated strings. Review: The best strings I’ve used - I use these strings mainly on a passive bass, although I have just upgraded the tone capsule on an active bass and that will get a set of these too. When you install them, they are very bright and you can shape a real grind into the tone. Which very much suits the punk and metal that I play. You can take that away with the tone pots, maybe just play with your thumb and get a real deep jazz sound. Naturally, picking at the neck gives you a great sound. I used to buy DR flatwounds for my BEAD bass. I’m not too sure if I’ll go back to flats as these share similar traits, eg with the coating, they are pretty smooth Great strings for great price. I would prefer a 130 string for the B.

**Q: would like to see black beauty flat wound short scale???**
A: That would be amazing!  We have offered Black Beauty Round Wounds for Short Scale before.  We are waiting for more to be manufactured but do not have a definite ETA.  Coated Flats would be very very difficult to make.  Flats are polished smooth after the flat ribbon wire is wound.  Unfortunately if they were coated they would not be able to be polished so will not be nearly as sooth as a traditional flatwound.  Maybe look at Black Nylon Tapewounds if you would like a black flat string.

**Q: Does this have these 4 strings: 45, 65, 85, 105?**
A: Yes, this is the standard guage .45, .65, .85, .105 (5 string set has a .125 B string, 6 string set has a .35 for the high C string as well as the .125 low B). Hope I've helped

**Q: Will this fit Fender mustang?**
A: These will fit any standard 34" or 35" scale 4 string electric bass.
Measure from bridge to nut to find out the scale length of your instrument.

**Q: Does the black come off on your fingers**
A: The coating wears off eventually, but my uncontested strings leave way more black on my fingers than these do.

Se ven super bien en mi Bajo, que es Blanco. Y el sonido es mas "Gordo", como decimos en mi país. Mas envolvente. Al tacto son mas suaves en los dedos qué las q vienen de manera convencional en el instrumento. Ya veremos con el tiempo como se comportan. El tiempo y el uso dirán.
