Due to the fact that it's a hypertonic solution it does burn when it's initially used, but the brand name would burn the same. This is used for Fuchs dystrophy of the cornea. People with Fuchs dystrophy typically have swollen corneas and sometimes have microscopic blisters on the surface of the cornea due to the corneas retaining excess water. The swelling cornea can cause blurring of vision, and getting rid of some of the fluid can help the vision for several hours at a time.
