Review: Great capacitor at a good price - Works as its supposed to, provides steady power for my amps when other wise id have voltage drops, my system has 2700 watts between 3 amps using 130 amp alternator and this capacitor i havent had any power issues even at very high volumes with heavy bass track playing, installation was simple with excellent instructions. If and when you need to discharge it i recommend holding the resister with a pair of needle nose pliers because it will get hot enough to burn you. Only thing is I wish they proved something to shield its taps from accidental touching, otherwise im very happy with the purchase. The price is reasonable too compared to others that due the same thing, accessing the the light dimming screw is simple i recommend doing it discharged then recharging to see how it looks may take a couple goes to find somewhere your happy. I havent had any issues with it negatively effecting the battery life. Sound quality is the same but instead of the bass being dialed down it stays consistent. the capacitance is accurate tested with a meter it truly is a 2.5 farad. Very well made and durable, the plastic mounts make it easy to mount although I had to take a sanding dremmel to sand down the rim of one of the mounts so I could slide it up the capacitor, the way it was kept it at the bottom side of it, the inside lip would prevent it from going any higher, after sanding it down i was able to slide both mounts anywhere on the capacitor made mounting much easier

**Q: I have pioneer a1686r 350w & a6996r 650w speakers, joying front unit, also want to buy a subwoofer and amp. should i get one of these caps?**
A: You should always back up you amps with a cap it stabilizes and protects all of you cars electronics and improves quality of audio

**Q: There's an audible alert for something since this cap has a buzzer in it's circuitry. anybody know why? says "notification safety sound alert" in desc**
A: Yes, it’s for when the voltage contained in the cap goes under 10 if I am not mistaken.

**Q: how hot does this thing get?**
A: Am running 1000 watts in my Subaru I don’t feel it hot at all!

**Q: can 2 be connected in parallel to get greater output?**
A: Just buy a 5 farad of the same brand for $46. But to answer your question,yes you can connect these in parallel. Your can never have tooany farads protecting your system. You can only have like a 200 watt amp but have it connected to a 20 farad cap if you wanted to or four 5 farad caps.
