When it was delivered, I was disappointed to find that one of the large glass panels had broken. I ended up buying 3 polycarbonate sheets and replaced all the panels in the lantern because I didn't want to have a broken mess in a house with young kids. I couldn't cut through the sheet with a x-acto knife even though I made several passes. I ended up just using metal snips/metal cutting shears and was able to get a straighter cut. I did get scratched, so be aware that edges can be sharp and you might want to sand it smooth depending on your needs. I included a picture so you can see that it looks exactly like glass--very sheer and glossy (note the reflection), but more durable. The sheet thickness (1/16") is like a glass panel used in picture frames. My dad had a Jeep and that plastic was more pliable than this. **Q: Can it be dyed?** A: I have not done it myself buy I have seen it done. You need the correct chemistry to do it. **Q: Can I used it for a green house** A: I don’t believe it is designed for that type of use. It’s just a bit larger than a sheet of paper and about a 1/16” think. It would take a lot of sheets to do a greenhouse. I would personally use something more practical than this **Q: Can this be melted with a heat gun to make a bowl?** A: Yes. I use .093" lexan to make flasher blades for spearfishing. I use a heatgun to soften the material...takes about 2 min to get it soft enough to bend.
