Manual says 1V resolution, and I own one of these and can't make it show tenths, DC or AC.** A: I don't currently have one of these. But, the spec sheet indicates .1A resolution on the current measuring (A) scale. All of the voltage scales have 1 V resolution. **Q: Does the screen light up** A: No it doesn't... That's my only issue **Q: Will the clamp measure current without splitting the wires (or using a line splitter) ?** A: Depends on what you mean by splitting the wires. 1) If you mean at a junction box do you have to separate the joined wires from the terminal block, device, or open the wire nut? The answer is NO the wire is slid down into the "U" shaped opening at the top of the meter and it is able to measure the amps going through a single conductor. 2) If you mean open up a cable sheath and separate the multiple wires running inside the cable from one and other? The answer is YES as this meter will not be able to sense the difference from the current flowing out one conductor from the current flowing back on the other conductor(s). **Q: This item said my car battery was 12 (car off). Is my battery getting bad? Does it show decimal places for batteries, like 12.5? And, take the exchange listing off. Your system does not allow me to change my mind. There should be something, to somehow allow this possibility." Update. As you can see from the above this was not meant to be a review but a plea for help. I was surprised when this was posted as a review. I had originally bought two flukes (don't ask), so, I asked Amazon to take this one back. I changed my mind and decided to keep both the T6-600 and this one the T5-1000. However, Amazon don't not appear to allow you easily to change your mind and keep the item you originally wanted to send back. They keep telling me to send it back. It is a great machine. And, this is the one in my bag as it is smaller than the T6-600. Above all, it is simple to use, whereas the T6-600's extra features take a little more getting used to and, its main selling point, i.e. the ability to measure voltage outside of the copper wire will be rarely used. A back light with the T5-1000 would be useful.
