This solution worked fairly well for the most part. I had to reconnect the cable a few times to get the power connection established. I might have had to do this 1x / day so it wasn't super inconvenient. I had no issues transferring video and pictures from my GoPro to my computer with this cable. Don't have any Gen 2 (10Gb/s) devices to test at that speed. Pleased with the construction of the cable, thick and has a braided sheath around it.
