My intent was to create a small paver area (5x5 paver grid) and a path to connect to other places in the backyard. The paver mold itself is quite solid. Some sort of polymer material. It is easy to lay as long as you did your ground prep. The killer for me was the time of installation!! Maybe I'm just a novice with concrete, but I spent a good 20 minutes on each paver trying to smooth it out and fill in the edges. It was a real challenge. The mold pulls off nicely but sometimes the edges catch and it is a pain trying to smooth those out again. It was taking me about 30 minutes per mold (20"x20" area). A simple 5x5 paver area amounts to 25 pavers. Sure enough, I've spent close to 10 hours between multiple weekends and only have 16 pavers down. I'm going to finish the paver area but I'm back to doing regular sidewalk style concrete for my path around the backyard. Another challenge is that your small paver units that are on the edges do not have anything holding them in. With a typical single pour, the entire slab holds itself together. But with the mold, I now have multiple little 'pavers' that need to be reinforced. My toddlers have already managed to easily pull 2 of them out.
