If you are looking for a similar product that can datalog, we would suggest the R4700SD. **Q: I need to record min/max temp, RH, and wind speed for 4 or 5 consecutive nights. Will it hold that many data points?** A: The Model LM-8000 is not a recording device other than to show the min/max. It will not record individual data points. **Q: How often do you need to calibrate ?** A: The Reed LM-8000 is NOT a laboratory grade instrument so do not expect absolutely precise measurements - not in this price range anyhow. It's great for what I do as a building inspector since I measure relative humidity and temperature for possible mold, temperatures of supply and return ductwork on heating/cooling systems, air flow from registers to balance ductwork air flows, and similar type of task. As such, I don't mind a slight deviation from perfection. I've had and used mine daily for 4 years and it still matches within 1 degree F. to my laboratory grade thermometer and within 1 CFM air velocity to my calibrated test door unit and never had it calibrated. Just keep the battery fresh. We use the humidity sensor most.
