They make visualizing math easier for my son who has A.D.D. I would highly recommend these especially if your child has difficulty with math.

**Q: Are the pieces plastic or foam?**
A: plastic magnetic back  These are good to use for teaching place value.  I ordered 2 sets and use them all the time.  Highly recommend!!

**Q: Has anyone used these successfully with Math-U-See?**
A: Yes i am using but i need to make clear explanation to 1 st grade kid

**Q: Are there 121 pieces or 131 pieces? The description are contradictory. And 10 rods would not be enough to model addition with regrouping.**
A: It's 131 pieces. We have done three digit and two digit addition and subtraction with no problem with these. These are a lot better answer easier to keep up with too that the 3d models. Also a cookie sheet works well for your work space. Good luck on your purchase.

Love these 10 frame blocks. Very helpful for lots of things but my favorite is for teaching division. Nice quality. Super good purchase 10/10 would recommend!!
