Wipe down with every use if its wet or dirty. Muzzles arent meant to be a fix all to destructive behavior. You need to redirect that energry towards treat filled kongs, exercise, training etc. My dogs are high energry so biking, treadmills, tire pulling, tug or war are all essential to their daily routines. And i have cats that my boy Thrasher wants to chase, the muzzle will help, but he often has his bungee tug toy he redirects his frustration about the cat to.
