Review: Very Messy - Some may look like I did for an alternative to LC401 Black ink. I decided to take a chance on these and luckily got the results I needed. This is extremely messy though, I tried to be as careful as possible but still managed to make a (contained) mess. I recommend gloves, towels, and to work on a surface you can easily clean or contain any ink spillage. Also, wear something that you would be ok getting ink on just in case. For the LC401 black since it is not designed to be refilled you will need to heat up the needle to puncture a hole at the top clear part. I recommend searching youtube to see instructions. You will also need hot glue to seal the hole back up. I still don't know how to get the machine to show that the new one is full. The picture shows it empty, but the number reads 100 and it does not have the low warning anymore. Plus it prints just fine with no issues. I have tried printing on plain paper, premium cover stock, and glossy with all resulting in clean prints. I am a graphic design student in my final semester so the print quality is something I was very concerned about.
