I would suggest opening the case & changing the lower board jumper from bus to external power. This will allow the hub to be freed from the constraints of bus power to using the connected PSU power. A number of low powered devices on the bus would not connect (perhaps an overload from many devices) but since this has been done the operation has been flawless.
