I know if you put it on a airhose fitting and then pressurize it right away, it won't hold and start to push it out of the threads. I think it takes 24hrs to setup fully. **Q: Use on drinking water systems?** A: Not sure, I used it on air lines outside. I would use Teflon tape on water. **Q: Can one use teflon tape, then apply this product on top of the tape (for water pipe threads)?** A: You would use one or the other, you wouldn't use both... this would take the place of teflon tape. **Q: Can this be used on a high pressured air mattress hose? It's for bolts so liquid doesn't leak past the threads. I mistook Permatex 80632 as mayonnaise and put it on a hot dog. The next morning was incredibly embarrassing during my morning constitutional.
