It will work. I promise you, and this is a real review! I did hear that you can make your own spray using half rubbing alcohol and half water. I was going to do this, but was too lazy; however, if you want, go ahead and try this -- clearly, the spray is mostly alcohol, I can tell by the smell. But just in case there is some other important ingredient in it, I bought this spray. NO damage to the leather of my white boots or my black Danskos -- the leather looks exactly the same, exactly the same texture and shine as before I sprayed them. However, I was ordering some shoe stretchers and this seemed like a good accessory from a respected manufacturer, so I bought it on impulse. Only later did I learn that most, if not all, of these products are merely alcohol and water. (The scent is a pretty good giveaway.)
