We don't own a kindle but I think they might be a little smaller than the iPad. **Q: I'm thinking about getting this for my two year old son.... Would he have an issue with this staying on without it having a chest clip?** A: Our two year old daughter does fine without a strap. You could if needed add a strap for the chest- one of those velcro straps. It's not a standard backpack. Although it holds a lot and has a little pocket on the outside you can put treasures or binki in. **Q: Would an 11 year old get bored of this?** A: It occupies my 18 month old for about 5 -10 minutes at a time. It would likely be a bit uninspiring for most 11 year olds. **Q: do the different buckles work on other ones? (example: the yellow buckle working on the blue buckle)** A: This is the cutest backpack. The buckles on the sides only work on the ones opposite them. For a younger child unfortunately the buckles are too close together for the child to be able to use them. My granddaughter who is now two years old can buckle them good and she loves wearing the backpack filled with things.
