I'm gonna use it for calligraphy and with either higgins eternal ink or sumi ink.** A: This is one of my favorite papers to use for pointed pen calligraphy. Sumi ink is my go-to black, other colors& brands like Walnut, Iron gal, many inks work lovely with this paper. Plus you can see your guide sheet underneath if you are using it for practice. The paper is very thin, but there is no bleed through. This paper is a gem. I am wondering if Tomoe River is like this...I keep hearing about it, but haven' tried it. **Q: Is this paper good for Ink?** A: Is this paper good for alcohol marker **Q: It says the size is 9x12 but the image it's advertizing says 11x14 , witch is it?** A: Amazon is mixing information on 2 sizes of paper. I have purchased the 9X12 Canson Marker, 18 lb,70g ,100 sheets. The paper is semitransparent, NOT semitranslucent. I am a calligrapher and I really like the weight of the paper, but do find that the side facing you when opening the Pad is the side that does not bleed....the back side does bleed a little. A quick note to Amazon, and a replacement was shipped out so fast I thought it must have sent at the speed of light. Amazon didn't even have me return the damaged pad. I would have deducted a star or two due to the condition of the first pad, but the excellent customer service offset that little bump in the road, and I'm happy to give a full 5 stars.The product itself? Well, if you like to draw with markers, pen and ink, brush-type pens, or similar media, you simply cannot beat this Canson paper. It is pretty translucent, strong for its weight, and fantastic for overlays, or for use as "uber-tracing paper". It holds the ink well, with zero bleed, even when I scribble on it with something like an industrial strength marker like a Sharpie, or when I "paint" with brush and ink. The surface is incredibly smooth, with practically no "tooth", and the pad cover folds over the top of the pad (as opposed to glued to the front of the pad, making it easy to remove a sheet without tearing.
