He has lots of legos, and loves building with them.** A: An 8 year should be able to build with it. It does require a lot of your own Legos. **Q: Does the lego classic medium creative brick box 10696 have everything i need to make all the machines?** A: I think you will need more. For example, the pop-up flag & falling hammer project uses 11 (2 of those included) 8x2's. One project also includes a 4 peg slope brick that I can't see in the picture of the brick box. For the pulley and bucket project, you'll need what looks like 28 4x2's (or pieces that add up to those). **Q: is this like traps** A: It's kind of a trap, but more like build and play with lego.
