We had to bungee cord the lid on making it more difficult for him to get into the box, but he's a determined dog (English bulldog/ boxer mix). **Q: Can you use this litter box without bag liners?** A: I have owned this litter box for over 6 months and I have NEVER used bag liners. Personally, i think bag liners just get scratched up and do more harm than good. So yes, you can. It would not fit. I tried just bringing the bag up to the edge. I secured it with a few small pieces of tape. When the dome is placed on top it traps the edge of the bag holding it in place.
