I covered it with Killz first just to really prep the surface and they stick perfectly. I was a good full days project with sizing and them caulking the cracks but it have totally revamped my bathroom. As mentioned by another reviewer these are legit thin Styrofoam so they can snap easily if you step on one if they are on the ground. So I could agree that they should be a little less expensive but I also think that the lightweight-ness off the Styrofoam makes it so that they stay on the ceiling with ease.
