I wouldn't call this book a 'diary'. It's a 'notebook', with wide-ruled lines inside, great for kids to practice their handwriting. The pronunciation of each letter on both the front and back cover is extra helpful, since more than likely the kids are still learning the letters so it's a bit like a cheat-sheet showing them which letter is which by including the pronunciation in English. I am happy to find that the pronunciation of each letter is accurate. This isn't always the case. I hope the binding on the notebooks hold up for the kids I ordered for, ages 3-8. I will update this review if I find that the books are falling apart.
