This is something I've found other timers to be a problem with. The feature that I wasn't expecting, but was very happy to find was when I sent a count down after the count down ends and I hit the stop button the count down timer doesn't reset to zero. Instead it goes back to the number I previously had set. I like this feature because I'm using this as a "Shot" count down timer for my Espresso machine. I set it to 25 seconds, and start when I pull the shot. When it's done I hit the stop and I'm set up for my next one.The magnet on this is very nice. It holds its weight just fine. I've had others where they slide down the machine, or wont even stick to it because the magnet is so weak. This one holds just fine. I'm not sure I would even need the stronger magnet (which is offered on another version) unless I had a real need to make sure it didn't move should I have 'heavy' hands while pushing the buttons from an angle.Over all this timer looks nice, runs well, has a nice loud electronic sounding beep (from a pizo speakers) and keeps beeping for about 30 seconds in case you walk out of the room for a minute. Haven't burned through a battery yet, so I don't know how long it will last. But if it's anything like my calculator I expect it will be a year or more based on use.There's no back light that I can see, so it wont work well for those that cook in the dark.
