**Q: Would these be suitable for outdoor use. For decking joists for example.**
A: Not really. But not because they protrude. You said joists not boards so that doesn’t matter.

For decking joists you’ll need 80-100mm screws. Coach screws that size would be fine but a bit expensive as you’ll need a lot.

80mm PZ2 will do the job

**Q: Does the 50mm include the size of bolt head. Was looking to use on 47mm thick joists,**
A: screw length is 50mm, total length including the head is 55mm.

**Q: Looking to secure mild steel bars to external brickwork, i’ve seen the index range mentioned, will those be ok? if so, which plugs? thanks!**
A: The box states these are for use in timber but I have used them for fixing into brickwork.  I hung a metal gate using these for fixing the hanging pins, used a standard plastic plug with a 10mm hole.  They have done the job nicely and are secure, also easier to remove and drive due to the hex head.
