Yes you can peel them apart but it MAY damage the plastic casing if you don't do it safely. If it helps you, each END of the cable . . . about 5 inches (12cm) is already split. It them becomes molded together as one cable. I tried pulling my cables apart and it looks like they will separate without a problem. If you really need separate cables (not connected/molded together) buy single cables. **Q: How is the 3-foot measurement taken?
