Review: Works Great! - I have an odd computer setup. I have a tower PC that connects to a TV and a Mac book laptop. The speakers I use are literal big stereo speakers I bought over 15 years ago. So my PC is for gaming and my Mac is for work. That being said, I wanted to be able to use my nice, but old, stereo speakers on BOTH computers without having to constantly fiddling with the cables. I tried an audio cable splitter but the sound output was off. my Mac would be fine, but my PC would be way to quite, even on max sound output. So I tried this audio switcher and it works great! I am able to easily and quickly switch between my PC and my Mac for sound and the switcher has a volume dial on it too which i never thought I would use, but I actually use it quite a bit with all the annoying audio level variants on different youtube channels. It works great! The only downside is that since this is a SWITCHER, I cannot have both my PC and Mac playing audio at the same time. I knew this when purchasing it and it was a hesitation for me getting the switcher, but in the end, I am really glad I got it.

It works probably better than the original from sound quality/attenuation perspective (not sure why people complain about attenuation issues?). It's pretty heavy - a good thing from a usability perspective as it sits on my desk. I appreciated that it came with a cable (albeit a bit to short for my application). Volume knob provides full range control (note that I'm using amplified speakers rather than a headphones) My only complaints: -as a desktop volume control, having input and output ports on same side of box would be more ergonomic and clean mounting than its design of inputs on one side and output on the other. -Mute button introduces an unpleasant hum during mute. Fortunately I just use the input switch button as I'm not using the other input for anything yet, and this is very silent. I may try to find a way to fix this.

**Q: Does each channel share a common ground? I've read lots of these devices have cross-talk due to not using an isolated ground.**
A: I don't know the exact answer. I connect switch to the audio card outputs of two PC's. At times I pick up hum, more so from one than the other. It's not excessive. Also, the input sockets are not the best quality and sometimes need to be fiddled with to make good connection. This is not a high-quality device.

**Q: Are both headsets and microphones switched?**
A: This version cannot handle microphones signal.

**Q: Can I have one audio in and out put to two audio outs at the same time or just one at a time?**
A: If you want two outs at the same time you're looking for an audio splitter

**Q: I'm looking to switch between headset and speaker for one computer. Does this work for that?**
A: Yes, it has two outputs so one can go to your external speakers and the other to your headset. Then there is a button labeled 1 and 2. 1 is pushed in and 2 is not.

I use this to switch between headset and loudspeakers, and it works. I do get slight disturbance in one of the channels if the volume is loud, but could also be my cables. Overall product is what I was looking for. Easy audio switch from 1 input channel to 2 output channels.
