Review: NAD blows away Denon - I have this connected to an NAD298 power amplifier for surroundsound with some calf LS 50 Meta speakers. Phenomenal sound quality and surround sound very accurate and not overwhelmingly bass reflects overload like the den on
Review: Wireless Interface is Archaic, Limited Support - EDITED/UPDATED: I did get the BluOS team to finally get back with me just before I returned the unit. Tried a few different things, but it seems that moving the dongle to a different USB port helped to make things work / find my network. The NAD and BluOS interfaces are still 10 years behind the times, not what I was hoping for, but at least the unit works wirelessly now (yea 2002!). Next step was the Dirac room calibration ... more hassles (find the YouTube videos) but I got it to work and the system sounds great now. So ... I love love the NAD sound and aesthetic, but they still need to work on their customer and user interfaces (other than our ears). ORIGINAL 1-STAR FRUSTRATION REVIEW: I've owned a series of NAD receivers since 1987. I was REALLY looking forward to having a NAD home theater with all the latest technology and interfaces so I could do streaming more elegantly than I do via my Apple TV. Oh my ... NAD has fallen. The T758 v3i will not find my wireless network no matter how many workarounds (from internet forums) I try. NAD customer support is not replying to my "ticket" requests so I'm out of options. This unit is being returned and my 34 year relationship with NAD is sadly over. PROs: * The T758 sounds great if you are just playing music or running a movie through Apple TV. * The NAD design aesthetic is still there. Cool and minimalist. CONs: * the BluOS wifi connectivity technology is straight out of 2002. How can I expect to elegantly stream high quality media if I can't even get it to find the network? Heck BluOS streaming drops out even when I had it hardwired (bypassing wifi) via a 50' ethernet cable inelegantly draped across my living room. * The regular interface (remotes, BluOS iPad app) are woefully archaic. Again like 2002. Simply not acceptable in 2021. Very surprising that those NAD engineers and designers spent so little thought on how we use these devices. The interface is more like an iPod (remember that?) than an iPhone. * NAD customer support is non-responsive. The website has a very limited FAQ, no phone or chat option, and they don't respond to the help tickets they ask you to submit. Likewise, the instruction manuals provided are not well written, erroneous/outdated in places, and disorganized. Again, I'll say I'm sad that I have to return this product. I've loved NAD for years. One of my favorite brands. But it's time to move on to a new brand. Don't buy NAD. Believe all those negative reviews that you read. They once made a great product, still make receivers that can sound great ... but they haven't figured out how the whole modern technology thing works in 2021.
