Manual installation is required for macOS, Windows installation is typically automatic. We recommend installing the latest DisplayLink software for the best performance. **Q: When installing DisplayLink software on my Mac, why is it necessary to grant ‘Screen Recording’ permission?** A: macOS requires “Screen Recording” for DisplayLink to send display data over USB. No data is saved or recorded. Without DisplayLink, only the Alt Mode HDMI port works. IT-managed systems may need admin approval to install drivers. **Q: Does this dock allow for three displays even on base Apple M-Series Macs?** A: Yes. Enabled by DisplayLink technology, UD-3900PDZ can connect three displays even if the computer supports only one display output on its own. DisplayLink Manager installation required on Mac. **Q: Which USB-C port on the dock can be used to connect my computer?** A: The USB-C port on the rear of the dock is dedicated for connecting your laptop. The front port is a hub port only, so it doesn’t work to connect a computer to the dock. **Q: Why aren’t all three displays connecting to my dock?** A: Please confirm your laptop’s USB-C port supports video output (Alt mode), that the docking station is connected to the computer with the USB-C data cable provided with this dock, and that you have the DisplayLink driver/software installed. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Product & Exceptional Customer Service *by A***M on May 20, 2026* I needed a solution to utilize my three screens with my laptop and I got more than I expected! I'm also extremely happy with my purchase! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Made to setup 3 additional screen, 4 total *by E***0 on September 15, 2026* Very easy to use and setup, the software needed for it to function was not necessary for me but I did it anyway just to make sure every works. The connectivity has had no issues, however I am using high speed HDMI’s to ensure the greatest image and performance. It’s compact size fits right onto my desk and keeps most of the wires hidden, it’s a little pricey but does the job. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent value for everyday use *by B***T on December 29, 2025* Overall these work great, and are a great value. I'm an IT manager and I've purchased a few of these now for people to use as office docking stations for the MacBook Pro. Specifically these are being used with the M1 Pro 16" MacBook Pro and they work flawlessly*. It provides enough power that users don't have to plug in the Magsafe brick while they're in the office. It supports dual 1080p monitors, or one 1440p monitor for sure. You have to install a DisplayLink driver and software package to make it work with MacOS (windows too I think), which is typical of these devices. Now thanks to MacOS's privacy and security settings, it gives the user a constant status icon and occasional warning that their screen is being shared. I'm glad that feature is there, but sometimes users ask about it. *My only real complaint is that while the software works great under normal circumstances, MacOS updates will sometimes disable the auto-launch of the DisplayLink adapter software. I regularly get a call that the users' monitors aren't working because of this. I can't really blame this on the display software though. Launching the program and reactivating the auto-start in system settings is simple enough, but always confuses people. It's usually a good time for me to check that the DisplayLink software is up to date too. You can update the software from the resident app in the system tray, though it doesn't notify you of new updates. The driver also integrates with Apple Watch unlock, and has an f.lux feature that will optionally dim/color shift your external display at night. We're using it for 1Gbps ethernet, dual displays, power delivery, and a permanently attached Time Machine backup drive, and haven't had any trouble with connectivity for any of theses devices, nor any complaints about speed. Sometimes these types of docking stations can get kind of hot when you're making them work this hard, especially if you're using power delivery, but this Plugable model doesn't ever get above a mild fever. ## Frequently Bought Together - Plugable USB C Triple Display Docking Station with Laptop Charging, for Thunderbolt, USB4, or USB-C Systems, Compatible with Windows, macOS, ChromeOS laptops (3X HDMI, 6X USB 5Gbps Ports, 100W PD) - Logitech MK270 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo for Windows, 2.4 GHz, 8 Multimedia Keys, PC, Laptop, Wireless Keyboard Compact Mouse Combo - Black - Logitech MK540 Advanced Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo for Windows, 2.4 GHz Unifying USB-Receiver, Multimedia Hotkeys, 3-Year Battery Life, for PC, Laptop --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pe/products/222430191-plugable-usb-c-triple-display-docking-station-100w-pd-3x](https://www.desertcart.pe/products/222430191-plugable-usb-c-triple-display-docking-station-100w-pd-3x) --- *Product available on Desertcart Peru* *Store origin: PE* *Last updated: 2026-10-06*
