Review: Great item but unfortunate damage to the electrical cord while manufacturing. - UPDATE: Received my replacement and it works great. Feels powerful and yet not noisy as my old one. Everything works as it should with this one! Love the fact that it is simply constructed, no nooks and cranny, straight-forward design, not heavy to handle and so easy to wash! I just used my new food processor yesterday and my husband asked from the living room what I was doing, that he smelled something like ‘electrical short’ or something. I had smelled it too but assumed it was because it was the first use and it had to burn out some oil or something.(?) But when my husband’s voiced his concern about an electrical problem, I remembered that when I opened the box, I noticed that the cord was actually pinched under the edge of the hole where it was coming out of the motor, like the casing had been applied with the cord not aligned in the hole. I slid it out of that corner and repositioned it inside the opening where it should have been. Of course since the cord had been there since the assembly process it was kinked, and had compression marks on the cord but I didn’t think it would affect its performance and trusted that the plastic coating would have protected the wiring. Now I am worried that it might have severed one of the small electrical wire conduits inside the insulation because of the smell it created, and I am somewhat afraid to use it now. I contacted customer service to inquire and the representative was helpful in offering a replacement. ***** I will update my review when I get the new one and test it for performance.
Review: A workhorse.... - I bought this food processor last Fall to process fruit for jam making. I pick my fruit in the summer, and freeze it to make jam in the Fall to take advantage of the cooler weather. Jam making can be a hot job, especially in Texas! In previous years, I chopped my fruits by hand, but this year, my husband and I went overboard and picked pounds and pounds of strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and peaches. Then a friend gave me figs! There was no way I wanted to process all of that by hand, so I started shopping for a food processor. I found several good reviews of the Hamilton Beach 70670 and it was a great price, so after a little more comparison shopping decided to take the plunge. When I got ready to process fruit, this processor performed like a champ. The only issue I had was making sure I gauged the pulse correctly, as a few of my batches of fruit ended up almost pureed, which was not what I was aiming for! It plowed through hours of processing for 3 days of a long weekend, then several 2 day weekends. And cleanup was so easy. This is not my first food processor, but the Hamilton Beach compares very favorably with others I have used. I really love it and look forward to my next jam making season. I use it other times for smaller jobs, but the big workout for this baby is in the Fall. June 1, 2012 UPDATE: I bought this food processor in September 2007 and it is STILL going strong. It has plowed through marathon days of chopping and is still working like a champ. Though I mainly used it for chopping fruit, I feel that I give it a good workout as I often will have it going almost non-stop for days on end and it has not given me a single problem. If it ever dies, I will buy another one just like it. December 1, 2014 UPDATE: Just thought I would come back an let anyone looking for a great value in a food processor, this is the one. Mine, purchased in September 2007 is still going strong. It still gets its main workout in the Fall when I make jam, but it has chopped hundreds of gallons of fruit and produce and is still doing a great job!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: puree**
A: Yes I make cauliflower mash potatoes and have made almond meal out of almonds.

**Q: other than being 10 cups, how does this compare to the 8 cup HB model 70740?**
A: Hamilton Beach 70740 8-Cup Food Processor 450 watt motor and 1 slice / shred disc. Hamilton Beach 70670 10-Cup 525-watt motor and 2 reversible slicing/shredding discs. I like the stronger motor and I do use both of the discs to get different cuts. To me the higher price of $5.00 more is worth the extra features of the 70760. Hope that helps.

**Q: How does this unit store? Do all the blades, discs, etc. store in the bowl? Do you have to store any parts separately?**
A: I keep the discs in a drawer apart from the machine. Never tried to keep them in the bowl. Since I have a leftover rack from another processor the blades are well kept.

**Q: Can I use it to make zucchini noodles?**
A: You know...I am not 100% sure on that one, it does make long shreds, when I shred cheddar cheese the strands are much longer in comparison to other modes of shredding (ie box greater). The only problem I can foresee using the shredding disk is that a zucchini is much lighter than the cheese and this may effect how long you make the noodle. I think you are looking roughly at the length of a egg noodle, and that is if you shove the zucchini in the spout lengthwise to promote the formation of a noodle. The Vita-Mix comes to mind when you said zucchini noodles (just thinking of the commercial, not that a vita-mix could make the noodle), and if that is what you are looking for lengthwise...I don't think this will do it. Hope that helps.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I love the food processor, works great!
*by A***R on February 24, 2020*

Arrived with cracked bowl..Very disappointed..I ran water inside to see if it leaked, and it did. I hope nothing else is wrong with it. I will try it out, and see if they'll send out a replacement bowl for it. I called the customer service support line, and left a message for a call back. It's very hard to see the fine line crack in the photo. This plastic is not very sturdy. The plastic is very thin. I'm going to try using the food processor, and if it works good, I might keep it. I still have a Sunbeam Oscar mini food processor I've had for over 30 years...and it still works great, much better quality plastic...heavy duty..compared to this plastic food processor. The Hamilton Beach customer service called back within 10 minutes. She was very nice. I gave her my name, address, phone number, information on the product, and she"s sending out another bowl, takes 7 to 15 days to receive the part. I will just put some duct tape on the broken part..and try to use it, until I get the new one. Lol..I have been using the heck out of it! I love it..It is super easy to use. The shoot is kind of small..so if you want large slices for your tomatoes and onions..you'll want to get a bigger processor. It sliced my Roma tomatoes very nicely. I just cut my onion in half and trimmed the sides and it sliced up nicely. I like the crinkle slice blade. It sliced up potatoes very nicely. (I didnt even need to duct tape it on the side for cutting up vegetables. ) Anyway, overall, I am very pleased with it. I've been slicing up all my veggies and putting them into containers to make my life easier..So..I would highly recommend..I only gave 4 stars on product only because of the thin plastic..but, you do have a year warranty..they cover it. So just be careful not to drop it..and careful taking it out of the packaging. It was a big plus that Hamilton Beach customer service was very nice, and no problems getting a replacement, you don't have to send anything back either.... I gave this a 4 store orginally, but, I'm changing it to 1 star, because Hamilton Beach customer service lied to me! It has been past 15 days since they claimed my new bowl would arrive, but I have not received it. I am now making a second call to customer service to find out where my bowl replacement is and why I I haven't received it yet. I will be contacting Amazon next, if they don't resolve this. Okay..they confirmed that my bowl will be arriving today. ..so I'm happy.
