It an ultra-minimalist rim and about as minimalist as it can get. It leaves the entire front and back exposed. If that's what you're looking for, great. For me, this is not enough. I need the back of my phone to be protected from scratches. I keep my phone in my coat or pants pocket with other things, like a wallet and sometimes keys or various objects. Aluminum is very soft and scratches easily.The product is described as having risers that elevate the front and back off the surface, but I found this to be very insignificant. It's virtually flush on both sides except at the top and bottom edges where the case gets a little thicker.
