I bought a dewalt diamond wheel and it didnt touch the floor surface** A: No manufacturer will tell you to do this but you can shim the cup wheel using washers that have 5/8" holes. As the cup wheel wears down you can remove washers to keep the shroud brushes in proper contact. Can also do this with 22.23mm (7/8") arbor hole wheels (just flip the flange nut to use it to center the cup wheel). I got some handy flange nuts from King Arthur Tools that help to build up the proper height while ensuring the cup wheel stays centered on the shaft (critical or immediate regret). **Q: Will this fit a D28402W 4.5" Dewalt angle grinder?** A: this fits perfec tly on my dewalt 4.5" DWE402 grinder **Q: Will this fit a dewalt DWE402 grinder?** A: Yes, this will fit on the DWE402. **Q: Will the dust shroud fit a Milwaukee 4-1/2" angle grinder** A: Not sure. It can be tricky to install on your grinder but once you figure it out, it works great! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hassle to install, then works great on DWE402 *by P***Y on June 20, 2019* This is the correct model for a DWE402 angle grinder. Once installed properly, it provides top-notch dust collection. (My only frame of reference is an equivalent Makita shroud for my Makita grinder, which was easy to install but less effective.) I encountered two issues that make installation difficult. The first is that the instruction manual does a poor job of showing exactly how the shroud must be rotated, relative to the grinder, during the first steps of installation. (I later realized that the valid rotation(s) are obvious if you carefully study the outcroppings on the shroud and the recesses on the grinder. But they're quite small and only clear in bright light.) The second issue is that, once the shroud is rotated into the proper position, pushing it into place (along the same axis as the shaft) requires enough force that you second-guess if the rotation is correct.
