**Q: Does anyone know how to update the bootloader on these boards?**
A: use the ATmega328p (old Bootloader) setting. works good for me

**Q: I am unable to upload a sketch to all 3 boards.. even when switching to old bootloader, are they bad boards?**
A: I purchased 2 sets of 3ea LAFVIN boards assembled with headers and USB cables August 2020.  Using Arduino IDE 1.8.5 could not upload sketch to Nano.  Changed Tools->Board=Arduino/Genuino Uno and was able to upload sketch.  The Nano thinks it is a Uno.  I do not know if there are any other differences.

**Q: What voltage battery for these?**
A: Variable. Can connect to USB via mini-USB connecor. Higher voltages up to 9V can connect to power pins

**Q: "irremote library by sherriff" compatibility....   having eliminated most other issues, i suspect incompatibility.  any btdt or advice?**
A: Sometimes these ship without bootloaders. You will have to flash it yourself if that’s the case. This can be done with a known good Arduino.

This arduino clone works well having similar footprint and functions. However to help alleviate some headaches I faced with arduino. First ensure that you have a CHP340 driver installed on your computer. Second ensure you choose the proper board settings Arduino Nano processor ATMega328 Now for me this is what helped. When trying to flash the code onto the nano, pull up serial monitor prior to doing it. For some reason without serial monitor, I couldn't program the nano. With the serial monitor up I could. It would say connector failed but still flash the code on.
