I have tried to research this for you by going to the AC Delco website. Not a lot of help there. What I did find is there are two types of filter available: the Professional Line and the Classic Line. For my car, only the Professional Line is listed so that is the one I go with. The Pro line has a lot of good design features plus very high micron filtration. As to the large difference in price it could possible be more folds in the media or something similar. FRAM price their filters according to the number of "bells and whistles" designed into their products. I should imagine that Delco would do the same. I personally do not like FRAM although they are very popular. Go to Youtube and watch filter comparisons. Its an eye opener. I use Delco parts as my car is still under warranty and I like to keep everything "just so". I hope this helped some. You can spin it off and on with your hand, making sure to coat the gasket with a light film of oil before fitting. The space is very tight and the filter is very small.
