Through the Ecobee app, you can see the open / closed status of the sensor(s). However, if you have Apple HomeKit, you can configure it to notify you about it changing state (open / close) separate from Ecobee entirely. **Q: If left open will these shut off the thermostat?** A: No! The lock will engage after 30 seconds of closing or immediately after door has been open for 30 seconds...kr you can just eave door open! It does not affect the thermostat. **Q: Is this Home Kit compatible?** A: I don't use home kit, bu the thermostat is homekit compatible and you can only use the door/window sensors with the thermostat... so I would say yes. **Q: Where can I get a single pack? They are kind of big for a sensor. They function well, I am not sure if it is my app or the sensors sometimes they give a delayed notification.
