I use this instead during that time, and then start dosing withΒ  Midol Extended Relief, 220mg Caplets, 20-Count Β on the first day of my period. As another reviewer stated, this product isn't enough if I am in need of immediate relief, but it's a good management aid. About 2-3 days before my period is scheduled to start I take between 3-5 per day. Once the menses start I take 5 in the morning and 5 at night for the first two or three days of my period. This (plus tea and exercise) helps me manage my cramping. I can't say I take fewer Midol on this, but at least I'm not taking naproxen sodium, acetaminophen or ibuprofen for days longer than I have to.I've found Oona works best as a supplement to a routine. Using it alone does not eliminate my cramps. Keep in mind I have very painful periods with almost all the symptoms you can think of, so Your Mileage May Vary. Oona helps me more with the associated symptoms such as heavy bleeding, bloating and nausea. As for cramps, these pills do make cramping more bearable but do not eliminate them entirely. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Not very many for $22 *by N***E on Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2018* I bought these on a friend's reccommendation as soon as I had my IUD put in. I already deal with mind blowing cramps every months and she said these are like a miracle pill. There are only 50 capsules per tin, and it says to take 2-5 at a time and not to exceed 15 capsules a day. I started out small but they didn't do a single thing for me, so I take 5 at a time now and still only subside my cramps only slightly. I didn't want to put anymore ibuprofen in my body but looks like I'll have to. Also, if you're having to take 5 capsules at a time and there's only 50 in the tin, that's only 10 doses! I would bleed through a super T and P in 1 hour for several hours on end, which was making me feel anxious when I was away from home. I could barely make it through a 1-hour business meeting.The gyn could only recommend The Pill. I do not like the idea of taking synthetic hormones, so that wasn't an option for me. Luckily, I found this product.If I am experiencing heavy bleeding or bad cramps, I take 10 to 15 capsules a day (per maker's instructions). This dosage takes care of the heavy bleeding. If I have bad cramps, I might add 1 ibuprofen. The maker says taking these with ibuprofen is fine.The ingredients are supposed to have anti-prostaglandin and anti-spasmodic effects, kind of like relaxing your uterus. I've found it also helps with period related diarrhea.It seems kinda pricey so I've tried taking 2-3 ibuprofen instead (for the anti-prostaglandin effect), but it only helps with cramps, not the bleeding. So, the oona product is totally worth it. What price would you pay not to have anxiety or bleed through in public??!
