The light does not touch the water but it does get some specks on it from the filter splash?** A: Yes it should work. We have our LIGHTDIMS Original strength in our test area underwater in a fishtanks for over 10 years. Be careful of Chinese counterfeits. Best to buy from us directly to make sure the products are safe. The Chinese counterfeit versions we have seen sold contain lead and harsh chemicals. **Q: Can you use these if packaging says undimmable** A: As long as the light does not get above 205 degrees F or 96 degrees C and the light is LED based then there is no problem with using our products. I believe what they are referring to when they say undimmable is that the LED light does not offer a dimming function built into the light itself. Some Lights have electronics in them that when paired with a dimmer switch will actually evenly dim the light based on the position of the dimmer switch knob.
