While an LED light strip would be good enough to light up the space from above the strip itself doesn’t look good itself. Therefore I bought this to enclose the strip. It is very easy to install. It is so lightweight that I suspect you could fix it with just double side tapes. It come with ends on both sides and I can easily cut a larger opening on one of them to fit my thick light cable. The diffuser is pretty good in hiding the light strip but you shouldn’t have a wrong expectation that it can turn non-continuous LEDs to an even light output.
