Should I go with large or extra large for him?** A: I have the same shoe size, and always go with the large, and they fit perfectly (I have been using these insoles for over 15 years). It is circular and the tiny arch lifters go under the center. The circular design then keeps the support even front and back and also sideways. Your foot does not tip to the outside. There is a place for your heel to sit and you get 4 pieces to gradually raise your arch higher. If you are just building your arch support, these could really help with fascitis. I have atrophy of the fat pad for my arch so my feet were so inflamed I needed something to stop the sensitivity to the covering of the insole. I could not get better than the 2nd piece but my fascia do not stretch so that is about as high as they will go. The instructions say that if you don't get to the highest piece you will not get the relief you need. Still, I got some in my arch and even into my metatarsals which are the worst. I need arch supports in every shoe I wear or I develop extreme cramping in my arches that cause my toes to cease and curl up. If I get an arch cramp in my right foot while I am driving it is very dangerous. I have to pull off the road to get out of the car and do calf stretches until my toes loosen back up. I have a pair of Barefoot Science insoles in every closed toe shoe I own. I've tried many other products and this is the best one for me. I will continue purchasing these whenever I add to my shoe collection.
