It is sequins...they are rough on the outside. I rolled the dress up and slide it down over me. No issues. It is not rough inside. It fits me fabulously. For reference, I am 5'8 195lbs, 38F bra. I actually could have bought the large. I had lots of side room in it. It is completely covered in the back, but completely sheer in the front. I already have my sexy undies to wear under it.
