The compass was not reading right at all. I soon realized that the internal wheel was not on the bearing. After flipping the compass upside down, shaking a little and flipping it back, I got the wheel back on the bearing. I suspect that many people who have had trouble with this compass where experiencing the same problem with readings. Now I am very happy with the way this compass works. The fluid inside has just the right viscosity to give a stable reading on my giggly kayak. As I have no magnetic interference issue in my application, I was able to zero the deviation adjustments. Also, easy to read numbers and letters at four feet distance. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars It doesn't work. Compass stays on one heading all the time.
