After a couple of weeks, I can say a few things: - I have had one attempt to seal a bottle fail on the first try, but then work on the second try with the same stopper and bottle (10 days and counting now). Every other sealing attempt worked fine the first time. So, it's probably a good idea to check the stopper after a day to make sure that it worked. - Fit is perfect for wine bottles. However, I did not anticipate that most oil/vinegar bottles would come with a plastic pour insert that's difficult/impossible to remove, and even when removable the stoppers often wouldn't always work with the bottle opening size. - For oils/vinegars, you can buy cheap bottles in the housewares department of your local department store. I got a small/medium bottle for $3/4 at a local store, and they included metal pouring spouts for dispensing; an even smaller bottle was only 99 cents at the local dollar store. - Even cheaper, if somewhat larger and more cumbersome, you can re-use wine bottles as storage containers. Brown-tinted are the best, as they'll block the most damaging light rays and keep your fluids fresher. Took away a star for the possibility of the occasional failed seal, and the bottle issues.
