However..I have a Rottweiler pup. Once he was a year old it quit fazing him. In fact, it won’t stop this 100 lb beast! I’m thinking it probably would work on a dog under 70 lbs. I’m not recommending it because my dog hates it and acts abused when I try to use it. If I keep it low he doesn’t feel it. If I turn it up he doesn’t obey, he runs from me. It’s a rather expensive item. I’m giving it a 5 because it does work for basic command training on a pup. But it’s not an essential. Because on a powerful dog like a Rottweiler? It just causes them to not trust you. I’m not recommending this for any dog because of the abuse factor. It’s difficult to explain why I don’t advise this method. Simply put it does not work on a Rottweiler. When you turn it up it just alarms them in a negative, nonproductive way. Does not work long range either. Don’t waste the money.
