I discovered this stuff by accident and my goal was not "incredible curls" but moisture. I decided to try it on my 4b/4c coarse, thick, professionally highlighted, below-shoulder-length SisterLocked hair. My hair always tends to be on the dry side anyway and color - especially highlights - doesn't help the situation.Anyway. This stuff is,well... INCREDIBLE!! I apply a generous amount to coat well on freshly washed, very wet hair (as the directions instruct) and let it dry naturally. It feels very thick and rich, but doesn't seem to build up. Every other day I lightly mist my hair with some warm water and maybe use a quarter sized dollop of product finger-combed through my locs to style them in an up-do, or just hanging straight. It seems to make my locs more solidified and less fly-away, especially those few that haven't fully locked, so even unstyled, they just look neater. Also it makes my hair soft and manageable, and once it's dry there is no sticky residue on my hands. I like that it also adds a little weight too so that my hair "moves" more. I almost can't keep my hands out of my hair, I'm touching it all the time!I was glad to find it on Amazon at a better price than the pharmacy where I first found it. I have not yet tried this product after a roller set (which I do occasionally) so I may update this review. I'm thinking because of the heaviness of the product, curled SLs may not hold as well. So I started off with clean and conditioned (a rinse out) super wet hair and applied an amount that seemed reasonable for what I've got going on (shoulder length, fine but a lot of it, bleach-blonde so moderately damaged in areas, always frizzier at the top, 3a curls) which was about nickel-sized dollop. I combed it through and used a little more water to de-separate the curls and scrunched them with a microfiber turban thing (I have the Aquis one, it's pretty good quality and my hair dries in about 1/2 the time when I use it so I'm happy with it) and then tied the turban up for 15 mins or so to try and pull as much water out as I could. I gently removed the turban, re-scrunched, and used water to define any messed up curls and let it air dry for another couple hours. Then I just loosened some of the tighter ringlet areas and fluffed it for a second with my fingers and that was that--NO FRIZZ--curls stayed together and looked glossy and felt soft. I honestly don't think my hair has looked so good since high school. Very natural look, none of that hard crunchy curls look from gel products. You don't need a lot. I put it on damp hair after showering. Smells incredible. I used to use hair serums before but I did not like that oily feeling on my hands that was hard to wash off after applying it to my hair. This product is more of a cream/lotion texture and slightly sticky but washes off your hands very easily. I also could tell a difference between this more natural product from the other non-natural popular hair products I was using before bc my hair starting falling out less.
