It's a generic or imitation. My cat used to go through Panic Mouse 360's in a little over a year. After the first few weeks of the original PM360 I would notice deterioration in the product's operation. The Pure Commotion toy (brown PM360 knock off) is better than the original PM360! It moves quicker and aside from an annihilated feather end toy done in by cat, it seems to be holing up better and my cat loves it move because it moves quicker. My son and his wife and their cat had recently moved in with us. I am the only one of the family who is home during the day.Yeager is an excellent mouser. In the short time that my son and his wife have lived here, Yeager has caught several field mice and brouight them home.During the cold, windy New England winter weather, when Yeager's time outside is shorter, I thought that he would enjoy a Panic Mouse. I had read wonderfully positive reviews by other cat owners, telling of their cats' happy and very active experiences with the toy. One owner said that she had gone through 3 Panic Mouse machines and many of the furry artificial mice over 8 yyears with her 2 cats! The Panic Mouse seems to be very well designed and made. It has multple speeds for the three-tailed mouse and gives the mouse unpredictable jerky mouse-motions. The owner is free to do other things during the play period he/she selects (from 15 to 60 minutes).Yeager seemed somewhat excited by the toy at first, but almost immediately lay down and waited for the mouse to come around. He would catch it, then let it go and wait for it to come around again. During the first session, he did, sequentially, bite off and chew 2 tails. He has never stood up and chased the mouse. He always just lies on his side and waits for the mouse to come around, catches it, then releases it, and waits again. Before even the 15-minute time-period runs out, he gets up and walks away.It is as if, to him, it's a not-too-interesing game of catch.Maybr Yeager is smarter than some other cats, maybe he's lazier or has a shorter attention span than some other cats. I don't know. I was dissappointed. Yet I don't know how a toy could be any better designed than the Panic Mouse. Perhaps your cat will find it exciting and challenging. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Panic Mouse *by R***K on Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2012* Panic Mouse is a big hit with my 5 month old Chartreux. The plastic wand came right off in minutes so I secured it with a cable tie and electrical tape and it has stayed on. My kitten kept flipping the unit over so I drilled holes in each of the feet and screwed them down to a 3/4 inch piece of plywood. The 15 minute timer is perfect.I have started to use only the slower speeds and my kitten will hide and sneak up on his prey. On the faster speeds the cat will get really rough with the toy and hold on the mouse and strain the motor.
